Non-toxic cement powder for casting in molds to create decorative objects.
Cement-based casting powder, ideal for creating a wide variety of decorative and functional objects, such as candle holders, bowls, vases, plant pots, coasters, soap dishes and many other craft projects.
It can be used with silicone moulds, as well as simple everyday containers that can be used as moulds, such as plastic yoghurt pots.
A release agent is generally not required. If necessary, a petroleum jelly release spray may be used.
Directions for Use
Mixing ratio:
100 g powder : 25 g water (4:1)
Mix the powder thoroughly with the water until a homogeneous mixture is obtained, then pour into the mould.
Calculating the required quantity:
To estimate how much powder you will need, fill the mould with water and weigh the water. You will need approximately twice this weight in casting powder. For example, if the mould holds 100 g of water, calculate approximately 200 g of powder.
Leave the cast piece in the mould for approximately 24 hours. Once demoulded, allow an additional 1–2 days for it to dry completely.
Once fully dry, the finished piece can be sanded, painted with acrylic paints and finished with a suitable varnish.
Mixing with Sand or Fine Gravel
The casting powder can also be combined with sand and/or fine gravel instead of being used on its own.
Recommended ratio:
2 parts cement : 1 part sand
In this case, calculate the total amount of dry mixture required as approximately twice the weight of the water needed to fill the mould.
