Palm Oil is produced from the mesocarp, the reddish pulp surrounding the fruit of palm trees. It is widely used in soapmaking because it contributes to soap hardness and produces a stable, creamy lather.
It is commonly incorporated into soap formulations in combination with other vegetable oils to achieve a balanced combination of hardness, lather stability and skin feel.
Caution: Using a high proportion of Palm Oil in a soap formulation may result in a bar that feels more drying on the skin. For this reason, it is recommended to balance Palm Oil with other oils in the formulation.
