Tea Tree Essential Oil
INCI: Melaleuca alternifolia
Tea Tree Essential Oil is obtained by steam distillation of the leaves of Melaleuca alternifolia, a tree native to Australia. It is recognized for its fresh, herbaceous, slightly camphoraceous aroma and is one of the most widely used essential oils in aromatherapy and natural skincare.
Highly valued for its cleansing and purifying properties, Tea Tree is commonly used in formulations for oily and blemish-prone skin. It is a popular ingredient in soaps, shampoos, deodorants, and personal care products, while its clean, refreshing aroma also makes it a favorite in home and wellness blends.
Extraction Method: Steam distillation of the leaves.
Origin: Australia.
Contraindications: Considered non-toxic when used as directed and properly diluted. Although Tea Tree essential oil may occasionally be applied neat to small areas of the skin, this should be done with caution, as it may cause irritation in sensitive individuals. A patch test is recommended before topical use.
Blends beautifully with Eucalyptus, Ginger, Lavender, Lemon, Orange, Pine, and Rosemary essential oils.
